VSS Monitoring Selected to Present at the Multi-Service Forum Q3 Technical Meeting

San Mateo, CA (PRWEB) August 15, 2011

VSS Monitoring, the leading provider of Network Intelligence Optimization, has been selected by the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) to present at the Multi Service Forum (MSF) Q3 Technical Meeting.

GSA recently published an updated Evolution to LTE report, showing that over 200 operators are currently investing in LTE (3rd and 4th generation mobile telephone) networks. All new networks must undergo repetitive development and trial, and with more than one device in the test, each device must be swapped in and out multiple times. Test protocols call for serialized testing, which requires dozens, if not hundreds of steps in order to simulate real-world interoperability conditions; this translates to a significant amount of test time being consumed in the wiring and configuration of the network.

Andy Huckridge, director of marketing for VSS Monitoring, will address how to significantly reduce the time in the trials. Huckridge will discuss the advantages of intelligent nodes over conventional taps, hubs and switches as the basis for network trial acceleration and monitoring on large-scale telecom networks. This new trial acceleration method enables service providers to get through the trial, interoperability and acceptance evaluation phase much faster.

"The main breakthrough comes in minimizing as much wiring and rewiring as possible when configuring the equipment and testing the network," said Huckridge, director of marketing for VSS Monitoring. "With trial acceleration, wiring needs to be done just once per physical test scenario. Timeline gains of up to 60 percent are not uncommon, mainly due to the heavily repetitive nature of trial & evaluation testing."

VSS Monitoring provides Network Intelligence Optimization, systems that enable 100 percent network visibility by allowing network traffic to be instantly mirrored and directed to any network intelligence tool in the data center, network or cloud. VSS systems also enable modular growth, making network intelligence more scalable, so a mobile carrier’s network as a whole is more scalable.

The MSF is a global association of service providers, system suppliers and test equipment vendors committed to developing and promoting open-architecture, multiservice Next Generation Networks. Founded in 1998, the MSF is an open-membership organization comprised of the world's leading telecommunications companies. The MSF's activities include developing implementation agreements, promoting worldwide compatibility and interoperability of network elements, and encouraging input to appropriate national and international standards bodies.
