If you wager 30 minutes prior to post, the odds may be 20-1, but by the time the race starts, the odds could drop to 5-1 or up to 50-1. People make the odds with their wagers. Morning line is only a guide set by the track racing sec or handicapper based on the past ability or potential they see in the runner.
